Radon - What is it and how does it affect your health?
Radon is an odorless, tasteless and invisible gas produced by the decay of naturally occurring uranium in soil and water. Radon is a form of ionizing radiation and a proven carcinogen. Lung cancer is the only known effect on human health from exposure to radon in air. Thus far, there is no evidence that children are at greater risk of lung cancer than are adults. Exposure to radon in the home is responsible for an estimated 20,000 lung cancer deaths each year and is the 2nd leading cause for lung cancer. Radon is a health hazard with a simple solution.
How do I know if I have it in my home?
Radon can be detected by a simple test that is placed in the home and then sent to a laboratory to analyze radon levels. This typically takes 2-3 days.
Evergreen RCS provides the service of professional testing and consults with the homeowner on options on lowering radon levels.
How do I get rid of it?
The simple solution: Evergreen RCS will install a radon mitigation system in your home to lower radon levels. The system is fan-based and proven to minimize radon levels at the source.
